Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Guwahati on Saturday (December 20, 2025) on a two-day visit to Assam during which he will unveil several projects worth around ₹15,600 crore and address public meetings.

The PM was received at the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport by Governor Laxman Prasad Acharya, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his cabinet colleagues, Guwahati Mayor Mrigen Sarania and senior officials of the state government.

Mr. Modi drove to the new airport complex, about a kilometre away.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to address a public meeting outside the terminal building.

Mr. Modi will then take part in a roadshow en route to the BJP headquarters in Bashista area, where he will interact with party workers.
