A purportedly “unanimous” vote by board members to rename the Kennedy Center to the Trump-Kennedy Center was far from it, according to Rep. Joyce Beatty (D-Ohio).
The congresswoman is an ex officio member of the board, and said in a video after the vote that not only was it not unanimous, but she wasn’t even allowed to speak up because everyones’ microphones on the call were muted.
“What you may hear is that there was a unanimous vote to rename the Kennedy Center the Trump Center,” Beatty said. “I was on that call, and as I tried to push my button to voice my concern, to ask questions, and certainly not to vote in support of this, I was muted.”
