More than a decade after she pivoted out of the corporate world and into show business, Jessica Vosk is on the cusp of some personal and professional milestones.

On Tuesday, it was announced that Vosk will star in the stage adaptation of the beloved dramedy “Beaches” as Cee Cee, played by Bette Midler in the 1988 film. The musical will mark her first time originating a role on Broadway and is set to open at New York’s Majestic Theatre in April ahead of a national tour next fall.

For now, the New Jersey-born actor and singer is excited to be spending December sharing music and spreading some much-needed joy to fans across the U.S. On Sunday, she’ll wrap a seven-city tour in support of “Sleigh,” a 13-track holiday collection featuring classic songs like “Last Christmas” and “Grown-Up Christmas List,” as well as festive collaborations with Neil Patrick Harris, Pentatonix singer Scott Hoying and Oscar winner Ariana DeBose.

“Especially in the time that we’re going through right now, which I think is a wild dumpster fire, I believe art is the thing that will always be a healer,” Vosk, 43, said. “Let me make you feel safe in the space I’ve created for you, to feel like you can be yourself and not be afraid. If that can be the one thing I do that makes you feel like you’re not paying attention to the man behind the curtain for a little while, then I’m doing my job.”
