The Principal Sessions Court, Thiruvananthapuram, on Thursday posted an anticipatory bail plea filed by filmmaker and former Left-backed Independent MLA P.T. Kunju Muhammed in a sexual assault case for Saturday (December 20, 2025).

In the hearing held here on Thursday, the counsel who appeared for Mr. Muhammed argued that the case was fabricated and alleged that the woman had trespassed into his room. His charges were strongly refuted by the prosecution while opposing his bail plea.

After a detailed hearing, the case was posted for Saturday. The police case was that on November 6, Mr. Muhammed invited the woman to his suite room on the pretext of discussing the movie selection process and outraged her modesty, forcing the survivor to flee. On November 26, the woman petitioned the Chief Minister’s Office, who forwarded the complaint to State Police Chief Ravada Chandrasekhar for further investigation.

On December 2, the Cantonment police charged Mr. Muhammed with offences of outraging the modesty of a woman, illegal detention, intimidation, and trespass under the various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
