Hyderabad

Clarifying his presence at football legend Messi’s match in Hyderabad recently, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said that he attended it only as a guest and categorically stated that no government funds were spent.

Mr. Reddy explained that CSR funds released by Singareni Collieries Company Limited for promotional activities were used for the event strictly, as per a decision taken by the Singareni Board.

In an informal chat with reporters on Thursday, the Chief Minister said that he wanted his grandson to become a sportsperson and therefore took him to the stadium, while taking a dig at the BRS leadership that he does not take children to pubs.

On the Formula E race case, the Chief Minister said the government would proceed strictly in accordance with established rules and procedures. He said permission is required to question senior officer Arvind Kumar and that the State has already written twice to the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).
