Dec. 18 (UPI) -- Joe Silver ran for 116 yards and the Delaware defense forced three turnovers to beat Louisiana for the first FBS bowl victory in Blue Hens history.
The Blue Hens (7-6) were out-gained 335-334 in total yards and trailed 20-16 in first downs and by about eight minutes in time of possession in the 20-13 triumph in the 68 Ventures Bowl on Wednesday in Mobile, Ala.
"This was such a special experience for our program, for our community, our whole state, the University of Delaware and for these student athletes, who put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into this season and off-season," Blue Hens coach Ryan Carty said at the trophy presentation ceremony.
"Man, the 2025 season was special."
