Los Angeles County Medical Examiner reports released Wednesday concluded that both Rob Reiner and Michele Reiner died of “multiple sharp force injuries.”

The reports also stated that the manner of death was a “homicide.”

The findings corroborate statements from Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman, who said Tuesday that a knife was used in the couple’s killings. That same day, Hochman’s office also announced that prosecutors were charging the couple’s son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of first-degree murder and accused him of fatally stabbing his parents.

The Reiners’ killings have left many reeling as longtime friends and fans have put out tributes about the couple.

Romy Reiner’s roommate called authorities on Sunday after Romy “fled the house in anguish upon encountering her father’s body,” a person close to the family told The New York Times. “Romy Reiner did not see her mother’s body in the house and learned from the paramedics outside that she was dead, too.”
