RIYADH: The trade between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia has shown a positive trend over the past five years, growing by about 12 percent annually, and there is still a significant potential to further enhance this bilateral cooperation, said Indonesian Ambassador in Riyadh Dr. Abdul Aziz Ahmad.
The envoy, in his opening remarks at the Indonesian Trade and Cultural Promotion 2025 forum at the Cultural Palace in the Diplomatic Quarter in Riyadh on Wednesday, said: “Last year, total trade between our two countries reached $6.6 billion, with Indonesia’s exports to Saudi Arabia amounting to $2.6 billion, while imports from Saudi Arabia to Indonesia reached more than $4 billion.”
He said that Indonesia is one of the most dynamic economies in Asia, supported by a population of more than 280 million people and a strong commitment to sustainable and inclusive growth.
“Through this event, which will take place today and tomorrow, we are showcasing a small part of Indonesia’s potential across various sectors, as well as our rich cultural heritage,” the envoy said.
“As you can see, we have invited several Indonesian companies, as well as Saudi businesses that import Indonesian products. We hope this event will introduce you to the wide range of Indonesian products and services, from food and beverages, construction, fashion, and personal care, to strategic industries,” he said.
