The Mega Millions jackpot rose to $80 million for the drawing on Tuesday, Dec. 16, after no one matched all the winning numbers in the drawing on Friday, Dec. 12.
If someone matches all six numbers, they will have the option of a one-time cash payment of $36.2 million.
There have been six winners of the Mega Millions this year, with the most recent winner in New Jersey on Dec. 2 taking home $90 million. That win came short on the heels of a Georgia winner who, on Nov. 14, took home a whopping $983 million.
