Dec. 16 (UPI) -- A Maryland woman sent her husband out to buy a lottery ticket and the Powerball ticket he brought home turned out to be a $50,000 winner.
The Burtonsville woman told Maryland Lottery she was having dinner at home when she felt an urge to buy a Powerball ticket, so she sent her husband out to buy one.
The husband returned home with $20 worth of quick pick tickets, and the very last line ended up matching four white balls in the Dec. 8 drawing for a $50,000 prize.
The woman said she called her husband at work to share the news.
"You need to sit down for this one," she recalled telling him.
