Billionaire Elon Musk is giving money to Republicans to help them win the 2026 midterm elections, a new report from Axios published Tuesday indicates, as his relationship with President Donald Trump has demonstrably improved following their recent falling out.
The new donations follow a dinner Musk had with Vice President JD Vance, White House chief of staff Susie Wiles and former Trump administration official Taylor Budowich at the vice president’s residence last month, Axios noted.
The report comes on the same day that Vanity Fair published an extensive piece based on interviews with Wiles. Wiles called Musk "an avowed ketamine [user]" and also criticized the tech CEO's dismantling of the U.S. Agency for International Development.
