The Prohibition Enforcement Wing, Ambattur, has arrested a 44-year-old man from Odisha for allegedly selling ganja chocolates.

Based on a tip-off about the sale of ganja, a police team conducted an inquiry with the person running a shop named Rabi Store at Gnana Moorthy Nagar in Pattaravakkam.

During a search conducted on suspicion, the police found 10 kg of ganja and 15 kg of ganja chocolates in the shop. The contraband was seized, and the accused was arrested and taken to the police station for interrogation.

Further inquiry revealed that the accused was Rabindra Kumar Mallick, 44, from Bhadrak district. He had procured 10 kg of ganja and 15 kg of ganja chocolates from an unidentified person near Saramba railway station in Odisha for the purpose of sale.

A case was registered against the accused, and he was remanded to judicial custody.
