Pollution woes: Delhi government directs schools to shift from hybrid to online mode up to Class-5

Amid the ongoing spell of hazardous air in the national capital, the Delhi government on Monday directed schools to shift classes up to Grade 5 to the online mode. The Delhi High Court, meanwhile, advised advocates and parties-in-person to appear through videoconferencing in matters listed before it and the district courts “in view of the prevailing weather conditions”.

Bill in Lok Sabha to open up nuclear sector to private players, overhaul liability regime

The Centre introduced in the Lok Sabha on Monday (December 15, 2025) the SHANTI Bill that aims to incentivise private sector participation, both Indian and foreign, into nuclear power production. It does this by replacing India’s existing laws — the Atomic Energy Act, 1962 and the Civil Liability for Nuclear Damage (CLND) Act, 2010, with the Sustainable Harnessing and Advancement of Nuclear energy for Transforming India (SHANTI) Bill, 2025.
