As an avid e-reader user for nearly a decade, I’ve watched Amazon evolve its devices, building lighter and faster versions that make the digital reading experience feel lifelike and friction-free. I’ve historically been a Kindle Paperwhite devotee, mainly for its multi-week battery life and water-resistance. Whether I’m taking the reader on long flights, hole-in-the-wall coffee shops or just to my windowsill on rainy days — it’s become a daily essential I’d never thought I’d replace.
There are new features I’d only dreamed about...
In the past, there were times I decided to let my beloved Kindle go in favor of a paperback copy of a book. The device’s black-and-white display wasn’t right for graphic novels – I need to see and feel the color to fully immerse myself in an illustrated book. When I started to use this new reader, it seemed like Amazon finally heard my constant design prayers
The Kindle Colorsoft, has — you guessed it — a color display. While the first generation was unfortunately a let-down (fans complained about the constant yellow tint on the screen), this updated model has eliminated the toning issues, making it a device that’s truly worth your buck. The color display is quite vivid and a big step up from the previous model’s lackluster display. In other words, if you’ve been waiting to buy the Colorsoft, this is the version you want.
