Every year, the Beverage Testing Institute (BevTest) blind-tastes hundreds of Tequilas, scoring everything from entry-level Blancos to luxurious Extra Añejo. This year, BevTest took it a step further by creating a Tequila Hall of Fame to honor expressions that don’t just win once but return to the podium repeatedly.
From thousands of entries over several years, only eight expressions made the list—additive-free Highland Blancos, mineral-etched Reposados, bourbon-friendly Añejos, and luxurious cask-aged Extra Añejos. Collectively, they tell a story from oven-roasted agave and volcanic minerality to Cognac cask aging, highlighting what Tequila can achieve when place, process, and patience come together to produce the world’s best Tequila. tasting notes are my own.
