RIYADH: The Developmental Housing Foundation (Sakani) announced on Sunday the start of the first phase of handing over housing units to beneficiaries across Saudi Arabia, as part of the Jood Housing Initiative.
The move follows directives from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who donated SR1 billion ($266.5 million) from his personal funds to the initiative to support homeownership for eligible families and improve living standards, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Sakani said the first phase marks the beginning of a wider delivery plan that will see housing units handed over in six phases across all regions of the Kingdom, in line with the crown prince’s directive to complete allocated housing projects within a maximum period of 12 months while adhering to the highest standards of quality and governance.
To ensure rapid implementation and tangible developmental impact, the foundation has adopted an execution plan that allows for the immediate start of deliveries by selecting housing units built by national developers and companies that meet approved technical specifications, SPA reported.
The Sakani program is implementing a monthly distribution plan that will cover two regions per phase, aimed at streamlining beneficiary access and improving delivery efficiency.
