Puducherry Congress leaders will be attending an election strategy meeting convened by the All India Congress Committee.

As part of preparations for the 2026 Assembly polls in Puducherry, the AICC has invited 12 senior leaders of Puducherry Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) for a closed-door meeting to be attended by AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge and Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi.

AICC leaders looking after party’s organisation and in-charge of Union Territory will be part of the discussions. The PCC leaders, who have been invited, included former Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy, PCC chief and Member of Parliament V. Vaithilingam, Congress Legislature Party leader M. Vaithianathan and senior vice-president P. K. Devadoss.

The meeting in New Delhi will be held either on Sunday or Monday. “The AICC has already obtained feedback from various sections of the society in Puducherry. It was almost like a survey, and the discussions by the AICC leaders in Delhi will be based on the feedback and the things to be done before the announcement of the elections,” said a party functionary.
