LONDON: King Charles III, who is battling cancer, will give an update on his health in a video address on Friday, Britain’s PA news agency reported.

Charles, 77, announced last year that he had been diagnosed with an undisclosed type of cancer.

His pre-recorded message will be broadcast at 8:00 p.m. (2000 GMT) on Channel 4 as part of Stand Up to Cancer, a campaign backed by the channel and Cancer Research UK.

The monarch is expected to stress the importance of screening programs for the early diagnosis of the disease, PA reported.

Buckingham Palace declined to comment when contacted by AFP.
