On Dec. 8, "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" actor Wenne Alton Davis was killed in a car accident in New York.
The 60-year-old, who used they/them pronouns, had been struck by a vehicle while walking in midtown Manhattan, police confirmed to USA TODAY on Dec. 10.
The New York Police Department said in its statement that officers responded to reports of a car colliding with a person at around 8:45 p.m. on Dec. 8. The NYPD did not identify Davis as the victim but shared that the pedestrian had been struck while walking at the intersection of West 53rd Street and Broadway.

Further investigation by the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad found that a black 2023 Cadillac XT6, operated by a 61-year-old man, hit Davis "in the vicinity of the south crosswalk on Broadway" as the driver was making a left turn.
