WASHINGTON – Members of Congress are ramping up pressure on military leaders to show them unedited video of the much-scrutinized lethal strikes in September on suspected drug smuggling boats from Venezuela.

The "Gang of Eight," a bipartisan group of top lawmakers that routinely receives briefings on classified intelligence matters, discussed the controversial operation during a Dec. 9 meeting with top brass.

During the sit-down, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-New York, said he asked Secretary of War (formerly Defense) Pete Hegseth to show every member of Congress the entirety of the footage. Hegseth responded, according to Schumer, that the military would need more time to review it.

"In my view, they've studied it enough," Schumer said. "Congress ought to be able to see it."
