The Thiruvananthapuram City Police have imposed night-time traffic restrictions in Eenchakkal as part of ongoing flyover construction works. The traffic regulations will be in force from December 10 to 16, between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., on the Chakka-Thiruvallam Road.

During the restricted hours, vehicular movement will not be allowed from Thiruvallam towards Poonthura and from Eenchakkal towards Kumarichanta on the NH-66 bypass. Vehicles travelling from Kovalam to Kazhakuttom have been advised to take the Thiruvallam–Ambalathara–Attakulangara–Statue–VJT–Pattoor–Chakka route to access the bypass. Traffic moving in the opposite direction should proceed via Chakka service road, Pettah, Pattoor, Asan Square, Palayam, Statue, Attakulangara, Manacaud and Thiruvallam.

Vehicles approaching Kazhakoottam from the Killippalam-Power House road side through Eenchakkal must divert either via Choorakkattupalayam–Thampanoor–Panavila–Asan Square–Pattoor–Chakka or through Sreekandeswaram–Uppidamoodu–Pettah–Chakka to rejoin the bypass. Small vehicles heading from Kovalam to the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport have been directed to use the Kumarichanta–Paruthikuzhy service road, proceed through Kallumoodu and Ponnara Bridge towards the Valiyathura–Shangumughom road.
