Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), has embarked on an official visit to Brazil.
The visit, from December 09 to 12, is aimed at consolidating the robust and steadily expanding maritime partnership between the Indian Navy and the Brazilian Navy — an essential pillar of the broader India–Brazil Strategic Partnership.
According to the Indian Navy the CNS will hold high-level discussions with Brazil’s senior leadership, including Defence Minister . Jose Mucio, Admiral Renato Rodrigues de Aguiar Freire, Chief of the Joint Staff of the Brazilian Armed Forces, and Admiral Marcos Sampaio Olsen, Commander of the Brazilian Navy. These engagements will provide an opportunity to review ongoing bilateral maritime cooperation, strengthen operational-level linkages, and explore new avenues for collaboration between the two navies.
The visit also features interactions with key operational commands, as well as visits to naval bases and shipyards of the Brazilian Navy.
Deliberations will centre on shared maritime priorities, naval interoperability, capacity building, and enhanced cooperation in multilateral frameworks, including broader South–South collaboration.
