IndiGo flights from Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada were disrupted on December 3 and 4 as part of the airline’s disruption of flights due to operational challenges, including the implementation of updated crew rostering rules (flight duty time limitations), minor technology glitches and schedule changes linked to the winter season.
As many as five IndiGo flights from Visakhapatnam International Airport were cancelled on Thursday (December 4) as a result of ‘operational requirements’ of IndiGo.
The flights cancelled on December 4 are: 618/307 Hyderabad-Vizag-Hyderabad, 217/218 Bangalore-Vizag-Bangalore, 557/6485 Chennai-Vizag-Mumbai, 5248/845 Mumbai-Vizag-Chennai and 6 E7176/6E7177 Kurnool-Visakhapatnam-Kurnool flight.
On December 3 also IndiGo had cancelled one flight from Vizag due to ‘operational reasons’. A total of 35 flight movements of IndiGo were delayed by more than 30 minutes on December 3, according to airport sources.
At the Vijayawada International Airport, while there have been no cancellations of the IndiGo flights, 19 flights of the airline were delayed on Wednesday. On Thursday (December 4), 15 flights (both arrivals and departures) were delayed by two to five hours. According to the airport authorities, passengers can expect delay of flights on Friday as well.
