Dec. 3 (UPI) -- Film Independent announced the nominees for the 2026 Spirit Awards on Wednesday. The awards will be announced Feb. 15 in Los Angeles.
The Best Feature nominees are Sorry, Baby, Train Dreams, Peter Hujar's Day, The Plague and Twinless. Best First Features include Kate Beecroft's East of Wall, Alex Russell's Lurker, Constance Tsang's Blue Sun Palace, the comedy One of Them Days and Bryan Fuller's upcoming Dust Bunny.
Sorry, Baby also earned nominations for Eva Victor both as writer and director, and Naomie Ackie's performance. Train Dreams was also nominated for Clint Bentley's direction, Joel Edgerton's performance and Adolpho Veloso's cinematography.
Peter Hujar's Day also got nominations for director Ira Sachs, actors Ben Whishaw and Rebecca Hall, and Alex Ashe's cinematography. The Plague, in theaters Dec. 25, is also nominated for the performances of Everett Blunck and Kayo Martin.
Twinless writer/director/star James Sweeney was nominated for his script and Dylan O'Brien for his performance.
