Raccoons are sometimes called “trash pandas,” and it’s a fitting nickname for a coon in Virginia who is going viral for getting really trashed.
The raccoon in question apparently broke into a convenience store in Ashland, Virginia, on Black Friday and chugged several bottles of bourbon before passing out, according to Axios.
The “masked bandit” was found flat on its stomach in the bathroom.
The responding officer managed to grab the raccoon and took it to a nearby animal shelter to sober up.
“After a few hours of sleep and zero signs of injury (other than maybe a hangover and poor life choices), he was safely released back to the wild, hopefully having learned that breaking and entering is not the answer,” the Hanover County Animal Protection and Shelter said on Facebook.
