A Delhi court on Tuesday granted bail to the remaining eight of 17 people arrested in connection with a scuffle with police outside the Parliament Street police station during a protest over pollution in the city last month. Nine of them were granted bail by the court last week. In all, 23 students were arrested in two different cases related to the protest registered at the Parliament Street and Kartavya Path police stations. Judicial Magistrate First Class Sahil Monga of Patiala House Courts granted bail to the eight students, noting that the police’s claim of a “larger conspiracy” was related to a separate case registered at the Kartavya Path police station, and not the FIR it was currently examining.
