Dec. 2 (UPI) -- Anne Hathaway plays a pop star on the precipice of a comeback in a trailer for Mother Mary released Tuesday by A24.
Michaela Coel also stars as a fashion designer and the singer's former friend.
The trailer features clips of Hathaway as pop singer Mother Mary performing on stage interspersed with scenes reuniting with Coel's Sam Anselm after 10 years apart.
"Long-buried wounds rise to the surface when iconic pop star Mother Mary (Anne Hathaway) reunites with her estranged best friend and former costume designer Sam Anselm (Michaela Coel) on the eve of her comeback performance," a synopsis of the film reads.
Hathaway tells Coel she's come to her for a dress.
