Dec. 2 (UPI) -- Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Tuesday the Trump administration has "only just begun" attacking suspected drug boats and putting alleged "narcoterrorists at the bottom of the ocean."
Hegseth made the comments while sitting next to President Donald Trump during the administration's final Cabinet meeting of the year at the White House. He spoke on the strikes on boats in the Caribbean Sea as he faces added scrutiny over an attack in September in which the White House said a secondary strike was ordered on boat, killing all 11 crew members.
Since early September, the administration has carried out 21 attacks and killed dozens of people accused of attempting to traffic drugs to the United States.
"We've only just begun striking narco-boats and putting narcoterrorists at the bottom of the ocean because they've been poisoning the American people," Hegseth said at the Cabinet meeting.
