LONDON: Israeli forces blew up a Palestinian house on Tuesday, located west of Nablus, a city in the occupied West Bank, that belonged to a prisoner suspected of a bombing attack near Tel Aviv.
Israeli troops, along with military reinforcements, surrounded a residential building in the Zawata neighborhood in Nablus and forced the occupants outside into the cold as they prepared to demolish the apartment of imprisoned Palestinian Abdul Karim Sanoubar. Residents from nearby apartments were forced to evacuate when Israeli soldiers planted and detonated explosives inside Sanoubar’s apartment, according to Wafa news agency.
Israeli forces detained Sanoubar in February. He is suspected of carrying out a bombing attack on buses in Bat Yam and Holon, near Tel Aviv, during the same month. Following the attack, the Israeli government announced the launch of a military operation in the West Bank.
