RIYADH: Saudi aid agency KSrelief, in cooperation with the Syrian Civil Defense (White Helmets), has launched a debris removal and management project in the cities of Douma and Darraya in Syria’s Rif Dimashq governorate.
The project includes removing at least 85,500 cubic meters of debris — 46,500 in Douma and 39,000 in Darraya, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Tuesday.
It also provides a specialized recycling unit capable of converting about 30,000 cubic meters of rubble into usable construction materials.
The initiative aims to reduce the dangers of unexploded ordnance and create a safe environment for reconstruction, the SPA reported.
It is part of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts through KSrelief to alleviate the suffering of the Syrian people, support sustainable recovery, and restore life to cities affected by years of humanitarian crisis.
