Monday, December 1, proved to be a dramatic day for TotalEnergies and its controversial liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Mozambique, which lost two public backers in quick succession. In the morning, the British government announced it was pulling out of the $1.15 billion (roughly €1 billion) funding agreement previously granted to Mozambique LNG through its export credit agency, UK Export Finance, confirming a report by the Financial Times.
