In search of a weekend treat, I stopped by Meet Point Burger in Jeddah’s Salama district on Al-Yamamah Street, a newly opened burger place with an American flair.

The exterior sets the tone with a vintage red Ford sports car hinting at the nostalgic, Americana-inspired experience inside. The interior continues the theme with an industrial design that evokes an old train station.

Double-height ceilings, exposed metalwork, screen and a warm blend of metal, red accents and polished wood give the space cinematic drama without compromising comfort.

The menu leans heavily into American-style comfort food, elevated with a gourmet touch. I began with the NY hot dog, presented as one of the restaurant’s signature items. The grilled sausage comes tucked into soft bread and piled high with fried onions, creamy sauce, chives and sauteed peppers.

While the textures delivered a pleasant mix of crunch and juiciness, the flavors fell short of the original New York-style hot dog I had anticipated. The toppings overwhelmed the sausage, and the portion felt noticeably small, especially when measured against typical American servings.
