Single-member households of ration card holders aged above 75 will soon start receiving rations at the doorstep under the government’s Anna Suvidha scheme in Mandya district, said K.R. Nandini, Chief Executive Officer of Mandya Zilla Panchayat.
Participating in a district-level guarantee scheme implementation committee meeting in Mandya on November 30, Ms. Nandini instructed officials of the Department of Food and Civil Supplies to prepare a report on the eligible ration card holders aged above 75 in the district who live alone. She directed officials to visit the homes of such persons and register them as beneficiaries of the Anna Suvidha scheme.
Information relating to the scheme should be communicated to the eligible ration card holders through fair price shops and a timeline and target should be fixed for registering the beneficiaries, she said while issuing directions for mandatory submission of taluk-wise beneficiary registration details of eligible ration card holders.

Meanwhile, Ms Nandini said the authorities will provide training to eligible candidates as per their interest under the Yuva Nidhi Plus scheme so that beneficiaries can secure jobs.
