Despite a respectfully subdued atmosphere and toned-down 2025 MAMA Awards taking place in Hong Kong, the major Asian music ceremony began its first of two nights with globally beloved stars ROSÉ, ENHYPEN and IVE emerging as early top winners.
Hosted by actor-singer Park Bo Gum, the MAMAs’ first night included two of the show’s biggest Daesang (grand prize awards) winners announced. ROSÉ and Bruno Mars’ Grammy-nominated smash “APT.” won Song of the Year, while ENHYPEN was named Fans’ Choice of the Year, following 20 male and female artists who were named finalists in the Fans’ Choice category.
Eight-member girl group Hearts2Hearts also emerged as a breakout star at the MAMAs after being named one of the two Best New Artist winners. SM Entertainment’s newest act was also named one of the Fans’ Choice Female Top 10 winners alongside their label mates Red Velvet leader Irene and aespa. As the youngest group among the winners, being voted by fans as one of the top 10 female acts indicates a strong fanbase very early in their careers.
