Panic spread in parts of Gadag city after a lone leopard was spotted in CCTV cameras in areas like APMC Yard and Panchakshari Layout.
On Wednesday morning, the movement of a leopard was first seen on the road near the Panchakshari City Park.
Some locals who came out after hearing the continuous and unusual barking of dogs, said that they saw the leopard running on the road.
Some youth began spreading the footage of the wild animal running away from a godown, on social media, adding to the fear. It was later captured in a footage roaming around the APMC Yard.
Deputy Conservator of Forests Santosh K. said that there is no need to panic.
