RIYADH: Saudi Minister of Commerce and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Foreign Trade, Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, and the French Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Economic Development, Nicolas Fourisier, inaugurated on Nov. 23 the Saudi-French Business Forum, which is being held in Riyadh over three days.
In his opening remarks, Al-Qasabi emphasized the Kingdom’s commitment to developing relations and partnerships with the French Republic, built on a foundation of mutual respect, and to strengthening trade cooperation and developing joint economic opportunities.
The forum witnessed the participation of more than 230 leading Saudi and French companies to explore cooperation opportunities and develop commercial partnerships in the fields of smart cities, sports, culture, and advanced technology, in addition to enhancing economic and investment ties between the two friendly countries.
It is worth noting that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries reached approximately $48 billion. Boilers, machinery, mechanical appliances, and aircraft and spacecraft were among the most prominent Saudi exports, while boilers, machinery, mechanical appliances, and pharmaceutical products were among the most prominent French imports. Trade volume between the two countries grew by 15.37 percent during the period from 2020 to 2024.
