In view of the heavy rain forecast for several districts, several districts in Tamil Nadu have announced school holiday on Monday (November 24, 2025).
Holiday has been declared for schools in Virudhunagar, Thanjavur, Tiruchi, Pudukottai, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai, Tiruvarur, Ariyalur and Karur districts due to rain.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rain in Cuddalore, Ariyalur, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Thanjavur, Pudukkottai, Sivaganga, Madurai, Virudhunagar, and Ramanathapuram districts, an official release said. The government has instructed the Collectors of these districts to take precautionary measures. While two SDRF teams have been deputed to Thoothukudi, one team has been sent to Tirunelveli.
