JOHANNEBURG: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan on Saturday led the Kingdom’s delegation at the opening session of the G20 Leaders’ Summit in Johannesburg, representing Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who sent his greetings to participating leaders.
The summit was opened by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, who urged member states to deepen multilateral cooperation as the world navigates persistent challenges to global economic stability, as well as ongoing pressures on energy and food security.
During the session, Prince Faisal underscored Saudi Arabia’s continued commitment to fostering strong international partnerships and supporting global economic resilience, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
He said the Kingdom “continues to encourage investment across various sectors” as part of its efforts to drive sustainable growth at home and contribute to worldwide stability.
Addressing the broader global context, the foreign minister stressed that today’s overlapping crises, from supply chain pressures to geopolitical tensions, demand “ongoing coordination between G20 members.”
