Hong Kong prepares for its stars in weekend horse racing - UPI.com

Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Hong Kong's finest warm up this weekend for next month's big international races; Japan entertains a visitor for the Grade 1 Mile Championship.

And back in the States, Churchill Downs and Del Mar carry the graded stakes ball, while Fair Grounds kicks off the New Orleans racing season.

It's a mixed bag, to be sure, but one filled with quality.

English raider Docklands faces a tough cast of locals in Sunday's Group 1 Mile Championship at Kyoto Racecourse. A winner at Ascot early this season, Docklands has been in thick of things in some of the top races in England and France without quite getting over the top.
