Miss Mexico has been crowned Miss Universe 2025.

Fátima Bosch, 25, received her crowning glory from 2024 winner Victoria Kjær Theilvig of Denmark during the pageant in Thailand on Friday, Nov. 21, coming ahead of first runner-up Miss Thailand, Praveenar Singh. The moment was vindicating for the humanitarian and volunteer, who was the subject of one of a number of pageant scandals over the last few weeks.

Miss Mexico's crowning comes after Miss Universe Thailand director Nawat Itsaragrisil called her "stupid" during a livestreamed speech to contestants on Nov. 4, drawing backlash as video of fellow Miss Universe contestants walking out in support emerged. Bosch subsequently characterized the comment as "unacceptable."

Despite Itsaragrisil's tearful apology, Raúl Rocha Cantú, the president of the pageant, responded to the backlash by announcing a series of sanctions restricting and almost completely excluding Itsaragrisil from the events of the 74th pageant.
