Massive strikes against Hezbollah and Hamas in southern Lebanon, deadly bombings in Gaza, and Israeli army raids in the occupied West Bank: In recent days, Israel has intensified its military operations, causing more than 50 total deaths in Lebanon and Gaza, and arresting hundreds of Palestinians in the occupied territories. Tensions have also heightened in recent weeks with Iran, which has come under scrutiny for its military nuclear program.

The first alarming front is Gaza. One month and 10 days after the ceasefire began, the situation there remains extremely precarious on the military, humanitarian, and health fronts. Since October 10, 312 residents of the enclave have been killed by the Israeli army and 760 wounded, according to the Palestinian health ministry, which Hamas controls. During the same period, 572 bodies have been retrieved from the rubble, bringing the estimated total number of deaths to more than 69,500 since the terrorist attack carried out on October 7, 2023, in Israel by the Palestinian Islamist organization – a figure considered credible by international organizations.
