NEW YORK− HBO wants to remind you that it's the best of the best. Still.

The premium cable network, and its sister streamer HBO Max, announced their major new and upcoming TV shows on Nov. 20 at a ritzy New York event led by chairman and CEO Casey Bloys, including hints about the new seasons of "True Detective," "The White Lotus" and "Euphoria." The message? More isn't always better.

“HBO has not missed a beat," Bloys told the crowd, lauding their prestigious and Emmy-winning content while he compared competitor Netflix to old-fashioned cable. He said in the exhausting race for volume, other streaming services have lost their identity, while HBO has remained true to theirs. (Its streaming service has had more of an identity crisis, going from the name "HBO Now" to "HBO" to "HBO Max" to "Max" back to "HBO Max" over the past half-decade).

Bloys laid out the future for HBO and HBO Max at the event, including announcing renewals for hit fall shows "Task," "The Chair Company" and "I Love LA" as well as promising more of "Game of Thrones" spinoffs "House of the Dragon" and the brand-new "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms." Here's what we learned at Thursday's event.

The upcoming third season of "Euphoria," set for spring of 2026, will feature the “strongest lineup of movie stars in history.” The network previously announced a host of A-list additions to the cast: Natasha Lyonne; social media personality Trisha Paytas; "Till" star Danielle Deadwyler; "Inglourious Basterds" actor Eli Roth; Homer Gere, son of Golden Globe-winning actor Richard Gere; Rosalía; "Basic Instinct" star Sharon Stone; NFL veteran Marshawn Lynch; and Zendaya's "K.C. Undercover" costar Kadeem Hardison.
