Personnel engaged in uploading data of electors in Tiruchi East Assembly constituency.
Data of nearly seven lakh voters, who have submitted the filled-in enumeration forms under the on-going Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, have been matched and uploaded so far in Tiruchi district.
The SIR seeks to ensure accuracy of the electoral rolls by identifying the absent, shifted or dead voters and duplicate entries (ASDD) and also include new voters who attain the age of 18 on January 1, 2026. More importantly, the existing voters are matched with the previous SIR conducted in 2002 or 2005.
The revision process is progressing on a brisk pace in the district and Booth level officers (BLOs), monitored by Supervisors and District Election Officers/Collectors, began distributing the enumeration forms to voters on November 4. The enumeration will go on till December 4. BLOs are simultaneously collecting the filled-in forms from the voters. They are required to match the data of voters, with the details provided by the voters, with the previous SIR and upload the same through an exclusive App.
As many as 21.98 lakh out of the total 23.68 lakh voters in the district have been distributed the enumeration forms as on November 19, according to district officials.
