Gujarat’s 49.31 lakh farmers will receive ₹986 crore under the 21st instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN), released nationwide by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Coimbatore on Wednesday (November 19, 2025). The transfer is part of the ₹18,000 crore disbursed to more than nine crore farmers across the country.
The Prime Minister’s address was streamed live across Gujarat, including at a State-level event in Gandhinagar where Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Agriculture Minister Jitu Vaghani distributed approval letters for agricultural assistance schemes worth over ₹11.68 lakh.
Mr. Patel said the “double-engine government” had swiftly announced a ₹10,000-crore relief package to help farmers recover from losses caused by recent unseasonal and intense rainfall. He said that improved irrigation and near-universal daytime power supply, now reaching more than 98% of farmers, had transformed the State’s agricultural sector.
Speaking about the Centre’s focus on environmental sustainability, Mr. Patel said the Prime Minister had consistently promoted increased green cover and encouraged natural farming. Chemical-heavy practices, he warned, were harming soil health and human well-being. “Natural farming is the agriculture of the future,” he said, calling for widespread adoption to secure long-term soil fertility and healthier crops.
