Olivia Nuzzi, the journalist who is recounting her relationship with ex-presidential hopeful Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in an upcoming book, had sex with former South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford (R) around the time he was running for president, according to her former fiancé.
Journalist Ryan Lizza explained on his TELOS.news website Monday how he discovered the alleged relationship in March 2020.
The article headline, “How I Found Out,” appeared to refer to Nuzzi’s entanglement with Kennedy, which ended her engagement to Lizza and her job at New York magazine.
But this was something else entirely. With novelistic flourish, Lizza began:
“Olivia had just returned from a reporting trip — at least that’s what she told me it was — and her Herschel backpack, the one with the flap that never quite closed properly, was tossed beside our bed, its contents scattered on the floor. That’s when I noticed the sheets of Kimpton Hotel stationery that would alter the course of our lives.”
