M. V. Ramachandra Murthy has assumed charge as Public Prosecutor of Government of Puducherry at High Court of Madras on Tuesday. He took charge after meeting Chief Justice of Madras High Court Manindra Mohan Shrivastava. He was earlier serving as Additional Public Prosecutor of Puducherry government at the High Court.

Lieutenant Governor K. Kailashnathan had last week issued an order disengaging three law officers from representing Puducherry government in courts and had given additional charge to three others. Mr. Murthy was among the three who were given new responsibilities to represent the government in courts.
