Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) said Sunday the Democratic Party should bring aboard embattled GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (Ga).“We are a big tent,” Raskin said at the Blue Bash Brunch in the Miami area. “We must be a huge, vast tent. I say this is a party that’s got room for Marjorie Taylor Greene if she wants to come over.”Greene was called a traitor by President Donald Trump for demanding the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files (which Trump suddenly supports) and siding with Democrats on health care. But many who watched Raskin’s remarks were not so ready to let bygones be bygones regarding Greene. Her fealty to Trump in addition to conspiracy theories, election denial and apparent endorsement of executing Democrats before she was in office would be an awkward fit.And the idea that Greene would want to be a Democrat is a “when hell freezes over” type of proposition anyway.“We need to be a very forgiving tent to allow Marjorie in,” one critic wrote. “Her apologies do not erase her past.”“Big tent doesn’t mean invite the arsonist inside and give her the matches,” another commented. “Marjorie Taylor Greene spent years calling Democrats traitors and terrorists ― and now we’re floating an open invite? “This isn’t moral high ground. It’s self-sabotage dressed up as tolerance.”Check out other remarks below:Raskin saying the Dems have ‘room for MTG’ is peak delusion. If your tent is big enough for someone who thrives on chaos, maybe the tent has no real standards left.— Selena Maris (@ItsSelenaMaris) November 17, 2025Big tent or circus tent? Because with Greene, it’s starting to look like a sideshow nobody asked for. 🎪🤡— HENRY🎙️ (@sensationahenry) November 17, 2025if she's pro-choice, pro-union, and for racial equality then maybe— Dark Rudy (@BoldRudy) November 17, 2025The tent’s not big enough to hold a Jewish space laser— Official Judge Pan Fan Club (@WiGovPR) November 17, 2025I think we should have room in the tent for people who support fossil fuels and oppose assault weapon bans. I don’t think we need room for people who believe in Jewish space lasers.— Darrell (@HenryDarrell317) November 17, 2025Close
