Nov. 17 (UPI) -- Ford and Amazon will partner to permit Ford's franchised locations sell its used cars via Amazon's global market.
On Monday, Detroit-based Ford confirmed more than 160 of its nearly 3,000 American franchised dealers already "raised their hands" to begin working with Amazon to offer certified pre-owned vehicles for sale online at Amazon Autos.
"The addition of Ford certified pre-owned vehicles to Amazon Autos represents an exciting expansion of our store, giving customers access to thousands of quality vehicles backed by Ford's comprehensive inspection and warranty programs," said global chief of Amazon Autos, Fan Jin.
Customers may secure financing, begin paperwork and schedule pickup time through the new program at participating Ford dealerships. But final steps may need to be executed face-to-face.
