A24-year-old Norwegian fan living in Milan has reported that she was molested during the Italy-Norway World Cup qualifying match at San Siro Sunday night by a 25-year-old man, a stadium restroom cleaner, who is now accused of sexual assault.
The woman reported feeling unwell and went to the restroom, accompanied by a friend who remained outside.
The 25-year-old defended himself by saying he approached her to help her.
Italy lost the match 4-1 but was already assured of progressing to the World Cup qualifying play-off stage next spring.
