A suspect accused of ransacking the office of the acting US Attorney in New Jersey has been arrested following a days-long manhunt.

"No one will get away with threatening or intimidating our great US Attorneys or the destruction of their offices," US Attorney General Pam Bondi posted on X on Saturday as she announced the arrest.

Officials say the suspect tried to enter Alina Habba's office on Wednesday while carrying a baseball bat.

He was reportedly turned away, before returning without the bat and proceeding to smash federal property in the office's waiting area and then fleeing. An FBI bulletin had warned that the suspect "should be considered dangerous".

Bondi did not identify the suspect in her post. Earlier this week, the FBI released a name of a suspect, along with a $25,000 (£19,000) reward for information leading to his capture.
